The Arkansas Country Music Awards arrive at UCA | New

The Arkansas Country Music Awards will return to the University of Central Arkansas’ Reynolds Performance Hall for the second consecutive year on June 6 to celebrate the state’s top local artists.

The awards show will be hosted by Arkansas Country Music Awards Vice President Charles Haymes and 2014 Miss Arkansas winner Ashton Gill.

“The Arkansas Country Music Awards honor the past, present and future of country music in its natural state,” Haymes said. “It’s to celebrate the independent artists who are currently recording music that originated in Arkansas.”

This is the fifth year for the awards and its second year at UCA.

“He started shining a spotlight on the music scene in Arkansas,” Haymes said. “Arkansas has been a key state in country music history. If other states knew what we have here, they would be jealous from a country music perspective.
