The Billboard Latin Music Awards are coming to South Florida this year!
The 24th edition of the popular ceremony – which celebrates the best in Latin music – is scheduled to be broadcast live on September 29 from the Watsco Center in Coral Gables.
The three-hour musical special, produced by MBS Special Events Inc. and Telemundo, honors the hottest albums, songs and performers based on sales, streaming, radio and social media results from the weekly charts of Billboard over a period of one year. . Telemundo announced that it will present the red carpet portion of the evening at 7 p.m., with the awards portion beginning at 8 p.m., according to a press release.
The awards will coincide with the launch of the Billboard Español site, as well as the Billboard Latin Music Weekwhich will take place at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach from September 26 to October 1. Music Week will feature exclusive panels, workshops, exclusive performances and more throughout the week in Miami, according to Telemundo.
Another special event: As a countdown to the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, music fans can enjoy a series of summer concerts airing weekly on two Telemundo shows: “hoyDia” every Thursday and ” In Casa con Telemundo” every Friday. Among the special guests expected are Chiquis, CNCO, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Lenny Tavárez, among others.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards began in 1994, and the ceremony has been held throughout South Florida, including Sunrise’s BB&T Center in 2020. Nominees are primarily selected from top performers in music in the United States, in Latin America and Spain. However, artists from other countries are also eligible. Singers Enrique Iglesias and Shakira are considered among Billboard Latin Music’s most awarded artists.
