Armaan Malik rises to the top of the music industry ranks by once again earning a nomination spot at the MTV EMAs this year.
Armaan Malik: a source of inspiration for Indian musicians
Singer-songwriter/musician, Armaan Malik has made headlines for his achievements in the field of music. Gradually and steadily making his presence known to all corners of the world, Armaan Malik was selected as a nominee for Best Indian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards this year. On his Instagram account, Armaan Malik expressed his appreciation and posted that he “can’t control my excitement anymore…” and expressed his hope to bring the trophy home to India once again.
Armaan Malik is nominated for his latest hit single, You, in the Best India Act category. Along with Malik, another contender for victory is rapper Raja Kumari, who like Armaan Malik is also of Indian descent.
This nomination is not, however, the first of Armaan Malik since he was awarded the privilege initially during the MTV Europe Music Awards 2020.
Armaan Malik managed to pick up the win and scored his first-ever MTV EMA 2020 for his hit international single, Control. This victory defined Malik’s musical career and guaranteed him the stardom and attention he so clearly deserves. Malik expressed his gratitude for the nod and said he was “thrilled” to have earned such an honor. In the interview, Malik said, “Last time I won the award for my debut single Control and it was such a big career milestone for me!” He continually said that he “hopes to make his fans, his family and the country proud once again…”
The knightly musician also acknowledged and congratulated the other nominees in the category and wished each of them well. He highlights how much it meant to him and the other nominees in the category.
Born on July 22, 1995, Armaan Malik hails from the city of Mumbai, India. He is the son of Daboo Malik, director and composer of Bollywood and Jyothi Malik, his mother. He holds an impressive resume as he is not only a singer-songwriter, but he also happens to be a record producer, voice-over performer, dancer, and actor. Adding more to his already amazing inherent abilities, he is also multilingual and speaks around ten to twelve languages some of which are Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil to name a few.
Malik’s passion and love for music started when he was a baby at the age of 4. In 2006, he was a candidate for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs where he placed 8th. Eventually, Malik got his first big gig in Bollywood as a child singer for the film, Taare Zameen By in 2007. Malik’s musical career has intensified over the years. He worked on My name is khanvoiced a character called Salim in the radio version of Slumdog Millionairebut his major breakthrough came in 2014 when he debuted as a playback singer for the film Jai Ho.
Armaan Malik’s remarkable and memorable exploits over the next few years led him to sing Main Hero Hoon’s Tera for Hero, Tumhe Aapna Banana Ka for History of hate 3. Malik has been recognized for his musical abilities and received the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent in 2015.
Malik also sang for the movies Baaghi, Mastizaade, Kapoor and sons and many more in 2016. Malik proved his vocal ability and cemented his position as a vocalist and vocalist for movies in Bollywood and he was consistent with his performance in each of the songs he sang in the movies.
Recently, Malik teamed up with Arista Records for the song, You. The single was a huge hit and provided Malik with the opportunity to be nominated for the MTV EMA again this year, which propelled him to stardom and recognition.
Armaan Malik’s display of hard work, dedication, talent and passion for music has truly lifted him above the ranks and given him the chance to make great music. He is considered a musical confidant for many budding musicians. Malik succeeded in breaking glass ceilings and rejecting stereotypes by being one of the first and few musicians to trace their descent or lineage back to India; hence an Indian musician who made his compatriots proud and paved the way for young people who want to become musicians.
