The Mercury Prize will celebrate its 30th anniversary at the Eventim Apollo in London.
There are 12 artists vying for this year’s prize and the overall winner of the competition will win a total of £25,000.

The 2022 Mercury Prize awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 8.
It will feature a performance from all 12 shortlisted acts and the event will conclude with the announcement of the overall winner.
What time will the Mercury Prize awards ceremony take place?
The Prix Mercure 2022 ceremony will begin at 9 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Lauren Laverne. The jury will include musicians Anna Calvi, Annie MacManus, Hazel Wilde, Loyle Carner, Jamie Callum, Jamz Supernova, Jeff Smith, Lea Stonhill, Loyle Carner, Phil Alexander, Tshepo Mokoena and Will Hodgkinson.
How to watch the Mercury Prize 2022 on TV
The 2022 Mercury Prize airs tonight at 9pm on BBC Four.
The ceremony will last 1h15 and will be televised until 22h15. It will also be available to stream on the BBC iPlayer shortly after the show ends.
Who will perform at the Mercury Prize 2022?
There were 12 artists nominated for this year’s awards ceremony and each artist will perform a track from their shortlisted album at the Eventim Apollo.
Harry Styles will miss the awards ceremony as he is currently performing in the United States as part of his Love on Tour. A live filmed performance will be broadcast instead.
