The 29th annual Billboard Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 15, 2022 in Las Vegas. Gen Z star Olivia Rodrigo went home with the most awards of the night, with seven in total.

City Girls’ JT and Yung Miami appeared as presenters at the BBMA ceremony for the Top R&B Artist award. JT joked that they didn’t have much time to talk because they were in Vegas and wanted to hang out and party; as a result, she began announcing the winner without first introducing all of the nominees. She also uttered swear words which were censored on the show.
