Helping our customers reduce their environmental footprint
In addition to decarbonizing our operations and investing in new energy technology ventures, a key part of our strategy to advance sustainability within our industry is developing technologies and services that help our customers reduce their environmental footprint across the exploration and production (E&P) life cycle.
In 2021, we announced our comprehensive 2050 net-zero commitment, inclusive of scope 3 emissions—a first for the energy services sector. We also announced the launch of our Transition Technologies portfolio to address sustainability challenges and opportunities across the oil and gas industry value chain.
The portfolio comprises a select group of products and services that quantifiably reduce our customers’ greenhouse gas emissions while continuing to drive high performance, reliability, and efficiency. Supported by an industry-leading impact quantification framework, the portfolio is set to grow as we embed sustainability further into our R&D processes. It is currently focused on

We are working with our suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions via a third-party disclosure process. In 2021, our efforts earned us an A– rating for supplier engagement from CDP, the not-for-profit organization that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts.
